Mexican candies are an interesting parallel world compared to American candies. They are like a mix of bright colors, some degree of nostalgic familiarity, and exotic mystery. Mango and tamarind as well as chili pepper tend be popular ingredients. There are a lot of candies that are even a mystery to me, but I have a certain level of fondness for their existence. Much like Spanish as an actual language, the visual language of Mexican candies is something that will always be something exotic and familiar that I can uniquely hold in my cultural identity.
